"Duisternis", the third album of the Dutch pagan black metal band Hellebaard, will be released by Christhunt Productions in the last week of October. Here are the band´s own words: "Well, they said it would never happen. In fact I said it would never happen. Then I noticed no one pays attention to what I say anyway and I sounded like an idiot... Summer 2008 will be the twentieth anniversary since the release of CARCASS' first studio album. It will be fourteen years since we last played live. We've decided to exhume the old corpse next Summer at Wacken. The timing is purely coincidental - it's been a long journey to get to this point where myself, Bill Steer and Mike Amott have enough common desire again to make it possible. We're finally conceding to the demand that seems to be at an all time high and doesn't appear to be going away any time soon. Any past reasons we may have had for not wanting to do it, or thinking it was impossible, have simply dissipated in the face of overwhelming interest in us performing THOSE riffs for a generation of believers who never had the opportunity back in the day. We could say we're doing it for 'the kids' - but fuck that ! We're doing it 'cos it will be fun again to play the classic CARCASS tunes !! Of course it would seem inappropriate for us to contemplate to do this without Ken Owen, but I assure you he'll be there, and we'll push some sticks in his hands and make him play, plus we'll have a killer drummer to sit in and play HIS parts. Myself Jeff Walker on bass and vocals, "the semi-legendary" Bill Steer and Mike Amott on lead guitar and Daniel Erlandsson, filling in for Ken on drums, look forwards to mutilating your hearing. ANTHRAX FANS WANT PAUL DI ANNO TO BE THE BAND´s NEW SINGER

Fans of ANTHRAX have launched an online petition to get members of Anthrax to consider former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno as their new frontman.
The petition reads as follows:
"As longtime fans of Anthrax, we consider the future of the band of the utmost importance. The band's lack of a singer concerns us because we truly care about Anthrax. While many of us would like to see the return of one of their more popular singers (specifically, John Bush or Joey Belladonna), we understand that that may not be possible. Because of these circumstances, and because of our want for Anthrax quality material (both for the band's sake, and admittedly, for our own sake), we would like to make a suggestion for lead singer we feel is appropriate for the band to consider. This singer has fronted one of heavy metal's all-time greatest bands during arguably its best years. His name? Paul Di'Anno. Di'Anno is most famous for his work with Iron Maiden during 1978-1981, including during the releases of the classic albums Iron Maiden and Killers. We know Anthrax are great Iron Maiden fans and know they specifically enjoy some songs from these albums, as we've heard Anthrax cover them. Paul has a great Metal tone while bringing a Punk-ish feel and attitude, a great fit for the similarly-styled Anthrax. Di'Anno puts on a notoriously great show, essential for a band with the great live reputation that Anthrax has. About the song they say: "We choosed "Dove” because it's an important song in the band's history. It's one of the oldest themes, taken from the first cd "Timeless Realm" and is always present in our set list. Because of its marking melody lots of people got interested in our work. People who were our fan liked and the ones who didn't knew us became fan. When we talked with the director (Marcelo Mugnol) it was fast for us to find the direction of the images and edition. MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE WILL FILM "THE DEAD MATTER" MOVIE

MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE will be teaming up with Hollywood FX legend Robert Kurtzman (Dusk till Dawn producer, co-founder of the KNB EFX Group) and his production company, Precinct 13 Entertainment to produce the horror-suspense film, The Dead Matter. Development has been underway for several months with pre-production officially beginning March 1st. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in Northeastern Ohio this August with a projected release date sometime in 2008. Midnight Syndicate founder Edward Douglas will be directing the film and producing it through the newly-formed Midnight Syndicate Films division of Entity Productions, Inc. The company is currently in talks with Doug Bradley (Pinhead from the Hellraiser series) and Andrew Divoff (Wishmaster, Air Force One, Lost) to star.

“This is a really exciting time for us. One of our main goals over the past ten years has been to get into a position to remake The Dead Matter with an actual budget,” said Edward Douglas, who produced and directed an earlier version of the film for $2000 in 1996 before forming Midnight Syndicate. “Horror movies are at the core of what Gavin and I do in Midnight Syndicate. It’s what we love and that’s why we believe in remaking this particular film. Co-writer Tony Demci and I have had a lot of time to take what we felt was already a good story and develop it into something very special that we know is really going to deliver for fans of the horror genre.”

The Dead Matter tells the story of a vampire relic with occult powers that falls into the hands of a grief-stricken young woman who will do anything to contact her dead brother.

SLAGMAUR TO PUT UNMASTERED VERSION OF ALBUM ONLINE FOR 12 HOURS

The unmastered version of "Domfeldt", the new album from cult Norwegian underground Black Metallers SLAGMAUR, is being made available for free download for a limited time starting at midnight Norwegian time on Friday 2 February, and will include a special introduction which will only be found on the download. The CD will be available to download on the band website www.slagmaur.com, for a total of 12 hours to take into account all the different time zones, after which it will be taken off, and the final version will be released in a months time, once the vocals have been mastered.

FLESHMOULD SAYS GOODBYE TO DRUMMER AND GUITARIST

FLESHMOULD have parted ways with guitarist Davy Vanlokeren and drummer Roel Ghesquiere. The band has announced that all the scheduled gigs will not be cancelled or posposed because they will do them with the new lineup. The lineup has not been announced yet.
